Stumm, the prolific 19th and early 20th century photographer of Benicia. Downtown Historic District Survey On The Agenda This Spring! The Benicia Historical Society’s Spring Membership Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 21st at 7pm in the Dona Benicia Room of our public library. Guest speakers include Eric Angstadt from the Benicia City Planning Dept. and Carol Rowland, a consultant who has been hired by the City of Benicia to conduct a survey of our downtown historic district. Mr. Angstadt and Ms. Rowland will give us an update on the survey and an overview of its goals. We will also have a short business meeting to review our 2005 goals and objectives as well as conduct a membership vote to induct new members to our board of directors. On April 1, 1905... This year’s tour will be one of our best. Mark your calen- dar for Saturday, May 7th from 11 am until 4 pm. (that is the day before Mother’s Day. ) Take Mom on the tour - she’ll love it - it’s the perfect gift for Mother’s Day! Tickets are on sale at the Camellia Tea Room , the Chamber of Commerce , the Historic Depot (all of which are on First Street) and at BookShop Benicia in the Raley’s Shopping Center. This year’s tour is a MUST SEE since the Fish-Riddell home will be featured as well as the old Brewery on West H Street! Other addresses on the tour include 1101 W. 2nd St., 166 West H St., 250 West K St., and 149 West F St.! The Priory House is gone but will leave it’s mark on First Street.
