Page 10 LANE HOUSE ~ c. 1910 125 East I Street History: This residence is one of a handful of bungalows built in the central part of the city during the early 20 th cen- tury (c. 1910). At one time this was the home of former Mayor Thomas Wright and his wife, Irma, longtime mem- ber and supporter of the Benicia Historical Society. Architecture: A very distinctive and stylish bungalow con- structed in the central area of Benicia after the standard cot- tage type became unfashionable. Although of modest de- sign, the unique and inviting front entry and porch beckons the visitor. Interior features include a built-in secretary and china cabinets and extensive wood trim and mouldings.
