Page 2 Benicia Historical Society The Benicia Historical Society began in 1973. The purpose of the society is to bring together people interested in the history of Benicia and California. The society works to preserve the history and heritage of our city for future generations. Our goal is to enhance historic Benicia through education, communication and community involvement. In cooperation with the City of Benicia, we have collected a sample of Mills Act Homes for this self- guided walking tour. We are grateful to the property owners for their efforts in preserving our historic resources. In consideration of their privacy, please observe the tour etiquette: Do not disturb the residents.
