The Benicia Historical society began in 1973.  The purpose of the society is to bring together people interested in the history of Benicia and California.  The society works to preserve the history and heritage of our city for future generations.  Our goal is to enhance historic Benicia through education, communication and community involvement.

 PRESENTS

 Benicia Memorial Day Ceremony

Monday, May 28th, 2018

10:00am to 11:00am

The Benicia Military Cemetery is the oldest U.S. military cemetery in the Pacific States, with graves dating to the

1840s. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

We anticipate a military fly-over during the ceremony.

Admission is free and all are invited, especially our veterans, active military, and their families.

This event has been attracting a good-sized crowd each year, so plan to arrive a bit early.

Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

To get to the Military Cemetery, take Military East and turn on Hospital Rd, then follow the signs through the gate.

A shuttle may be available that morning.
